Limitations in Quantum Computing from Resource Constraints

چکیده

Fault-tolerant schemes can use error correction to make a quantum computation arbitrarily ac- curate, provided that errors per physical component are smaller than certain threshold and in- dependent of the computer size. However in current experiments, resource limitations like energy, volume or available bandwidth induce rates typically grow as grows. Taking into account these constraints, we show amount be opti- mized, leading maximum attainable computational accuracy. We find this for generic situations where noise is scale-dependent. By inverting logic, provide experimenters with tool finding minimum resources required run an algorithm given When combined full-stack computing model, provides basis energetic estimates future large-scale computers.

norms and constraints in translating childrens novels from english into persian

abstract foreign and iranian cultures are far distinct in the constraints imposed on writing and translating for children, since the iranian literary system is mainly concerned with cultural and religious instructions which lead to manipulation of translated texts. this study sought to identify the cultural and social constraints and norms which determined the strategies applied in the transl...

Resource optimization for fault-tolerant quantum computing

Quantum computing offers the potential for efficiently solving otherwise classically difficult problems, with applications in material and drug design, cryptography, theoretical physics, number theory and more. However, quantum systems are notoriously fragile; interaction with the surrounding environment and lack of precise control constitute noise, which makes construction of a reliable quantu...

Finding resource states of measurement-based quantum computing is harder than quantum computing

Measurement-based quantum computing enables universal quantum computing with only adaptive single-qubit measurements on certain many-qubit states, such as the graph state, the AffleckKennedy-Lieb-Tasaki (AKLT) state, and several tensor-network states. Finding new resource states of measurement-based quantum computing is a hard task, since for a given state there are exponentially many possible ...

Resource Limitations in Visual Cognition

Visual attention and visual working memory are two of the core resources that support visual perception. Foundational research has demonstrated that these resources are highly limited, but an active debate concerns exactly how they are limited. While many classic studies suggested that these resources are fundamentally discrete, with fixed capacity of 3–4 objects maximum, a number of recent stu...

Effective Interactions Arising from Resource Limitations in Gene Transcription Networks

Protein production in gene transcription networks relies on the availability of resources necessary for transcription and translation, such as RNA polymerase (RNAP) and ribosomes, which are found in cells in limited amounts. As various genes in a network compete for a common pool of resources, a hidden layer of interactions among genes arises. Such interactions are not reflected by standard Hil...
